Derek Roland

Derek is a professional performer and choreographer from New York. He has served on the faculty of Broadway Dance Center, Steps on Broadway, the Mark Morris Dance Group, CAP21Conservatory, and Marymount Manhattan College.  He has judged numerous Dance Competitions.  Derek is well-known in the New York tap community and was the tap dance teacher/ coach for “Aladdin” on Broadway.  Derek teaches and choreographs a range of dance styles including hip-hop, jazz, and tap. Derek's performance credits include National Tours of “Kiss Me Kate” (playing Bill Calhoun), “Showboat,” “Cinderella,” and “Funny Girl,” as well as the Italian Tour of “West Side Story.”
