Joel Casanova
Joél Casanova was born in Chicago, IL, and raised in Dallas, TX. He began training in Hip-Hop at 13 years old at Revelation Dance Studio and danced on their competition team for the next 5 years. By the age of 16, he was choreographing professionally. At age 18, he accepted a teaching position in Virginia as the Hip-Hop Instructor of Academie de Ballet. He also performed in theatrical productions with Masterworks USA during his time there. At 19, he pursued a BA in Journalism and graduated in 2018. In addition, he received training in Ballet and Modern from Mr. Elbert Watson, former principal dancer for Alvin Ailey. When Joél Casanova was 20 years old, he founded Beat Hunter Dance, a dance business focused on personalized dance training and innovative instruction through original curricula. BHD allows this unique training by intentionally being a mobile entity for local, national, and international dance communities. Joél has a deep passion for showing students of all ages the joy and freedom that dance gives.
